Beirut, July 1, 2009 - The American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and Clemenceau Medical Center affiliated with Johns Hopkins International (CMC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) today to establish a new collaborative effort that sets the principles of cooperation between the two medical institutions. The cooperation will focus on several aspects, both clinical and academic, that will help AUBMC and CMC enhance their delivery of the highest quality care possible. The two institutions will team up on several levels, including the creation of centers of excellence, developing quality standards in healthcare, and collaborating on medical and educational activities.
T“Excellence and relentless commitment for high quality patient care are deeply instilled in the institutional cultures of both AUB and CMC, and this is personified in the physicians, nurses and staff,” said Dr. Mounes Kalaawi, CEO of CMC. “With this collaboration, the two institutions will enhance the work for their strategic plan to be at the forefront of medicine and deliver the highest quality of health care." He added: “By signing this MOU with the AUBMC, Clemenceau Medical Center affiliated with Johns Hopkins International, which is currently collaborating with the LAU medical school, aims to enhance its role as a leading institution for academically-driven innovations in clinical service, medical education and research. Dr. Mohamed Sayegh, the new Vice President for Medical Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Medical Center of the American University of Beirut said: “Today is a historic day that sets the stage for future collaboration between AUBMC and academic institutions in Lebanon and the region. Clemenceau Medical Center is recognized as a regional leader in innovation and excellence and by such collaboration, AUBMC will continue to lead the way in building the academic bridges to excellence in health care, teaching and research”. التعاون بين المركز الطبي في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت ومركز كليمنصو الطبي
بيروت في 1/7/2009 - وقّع المركز الطبي في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت ومركز كليمنصو الطبي المرتبط بجامعة جونز هوبكنز الدولية مذكرة تفاهم لتأسيس مجهود تعاوني جديد لوضع مبادئ التعاون بين المركزين الطبيين. وسيتركّز هذا التعاون على عدة نواحي كلينيكية وأكاديمية لتساعد المركز الطبي ومركز كليمنصو الطبي على تدعيم توفيرهما لأفضل عناية صحية ممتازة ممكنة. وستشترك المؤسستان في عدة مجالات تشمل إنشاء مراكز امتياز، وتطوير معايير الجودة في العناية الصحية، والتعاون في أنشطة طبية وتعليمية.
وقال الدكتور مؤنس قلعاوي، الرئيس التنفيذي لمركز كليمنصو الطبي: "إن الامتياز والالتزام المستمر بالعناية الصحية الفائقة النوعية للمرضى هما راسخان في ثقافة المركز الطبي في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت ومركز كليمنصو الطبي، وهذا الأمير يتجلّى في أطبائنا وممرضينا وموظفينا وبتعاونهما، ستتمكن المؤسستان من متابعة تحقيق خطتهما الاستراتيجية لتوفير أفضل عناية صحية وطبية للبنان والمنطقة". وأردف الدكتور قلعاوي: "بتوقيع مذكرة التفاهم مع المركز الطبي في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، نهدف في مركز كليمنصو الطبي المرتبط بجامعة جونز هوبكنز الدولية والمتعاون أيضاً مع كلية الطب في الجامعة اللبنانية الأميركية، إلى تدعيم دورنا كمؤسسة رائدة تمكننا من متابعة الالتزام بتوفير ما وعدنا به من امتياز عالمي، وتقديم الأفضل في الاكتشافات والأبحاث والابتكارات في الخدمات الطبية". وشدّد السيد ماهر أبو غزالة، رئيس مجلس الإدارة، على أهمية هذا التفاهم لما يحتويه على مكونات النجاح للمؤسستين اللتين تفخران بإنجازاتهمها ويعكس العمل الدؤوب للوصول إلى الامتياز.
أما الدكتور محمد الصايغ الذي عيّن مؤخراً كنائب الرئيس للشؤون الطبية وعميد كلية الطب والمركز الطبي في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، فقال: "اليوم يوم تاريخي يضع إطاراً للتعاون المستقبلي بين المركز الطبي في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت والمؤسسات الأكاديمية في لبنان والمنطقة. إن مركز كليمنصو الطبي معروف كرائد إقليمي في التجديد والامتياز، وبهذا التعاون يكون المركز الطبي في الجامعة في بيروت يتابع مسيرته في بناء الجسور الأكاديمية نحو الامتياز في العناية الصحية والتعليم والأبحاث". وقال رئيس الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت الدكتور بيتر دورمان: "إن هذا التفاهم التاريخي بين المركز الطبي في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت ومركز كليمنصو الطبي يتماشى مع طموحات المؤسستين في توفير أفضل عناية ممكنة للمرضى في لبنان والمنطقة وتطوير تعاون تآلفي بين أطبائنا وموظفينا لتطوير التقدم الطبي عبر الأبحاث وعبر توفير أفضل تدريب لطلابنا وأطبائنا المقيمين".
