4D ultrasound techniques enable the evaluation of complex ana-tomical structures like valves and wall motion in a way never seen before. In adult and pediatric cardiology, realistic representation of cardiovascular anatomy can be evaluated and documented. 4D Echo is now accessible and integrate applica-tions in the clinical workflow
This new Machine integrates new technologies and software’s: we can see the Heart as an anatomical view in three dimensions. These technologies allow us to calculate the volume of the cardiac cavities as accurate as MRI with of course, less time and money. We can analyze the left ventricular function and synchronization indicating the usefulness’ of a triple chamber pacemaker for the patient.
In valvular diseases, the 4D echo permit to see the valves as never before ‘a surgical view of the valves’ meaning we can see the valves as the surgeon does it in the operating room. This, permits to diagnose accurately all the valvular diseases, specially the mitral regurgitations, and the paravalvular leaks (usually missed by the classical 2D echo).
The Inter atrial septum analysis is also one of the major indications of this technique, with 4D echo we see the septum in a front view, like never before, which is very important before atrial septal defect closure o patent foramen ovale closure.Finally, the 4D echo is very important in congenital heart diseases with a wide variety of indications and diagnosis that is much more accurate then classical 2D echo.

إن هذه التـقـنية الفريدة ، إذ يـنـفرد بها مركز كليمنصو الطبي في لبنان ، كونه رائداً في استقدام أحدث التقنيات العالمية، تسمح بتشخيص تشريحي لكافة أجزاء القلب كالصمامات و حركة جدار القلب بطريقة كانت غير ممكـنـة حتى الآن.
إن هذا الجهاز الجديد يسمح برؤية ثلاثية الأبعاد للقلب، و هي تمكـّن من قياس حجم حجرات القلب بنفس الدقة التي يمكن الحصول عليها بتصوير الرنين المغناطيسي للقلب، بوقت أقصر و بكلفة أقل. أضف إلى ذلك أن هذا الجهاز يسمح بقياس و تحليل البطين الأيسر و وظائفه و استنتاج مدى الحاجة لبطارية ثلاثية الحجرات.
أما في ما يتعلق بأمراض الصمامات، فإن الصورة رباعية الأبعاد تسمح برؤية الصمام ما قبل الجراحة بدقة مـتـناهية ، كما تسمح برؤية الصمام كما يراه الجرّاح خلال العملية. و بهذا، يمكن تشخيص امراض الصمامات بدقة أكبر و خصوصاً الارتجاع في الصمام التاجي أو الميترالي و التسرب حول الصمام ، و هما تشخيصان كان يصعب تأكيدهما بالصورة الصوتية الثـنـائية الأبعاد.
يتمتع جهاز التصوير الرباعي الأبعاد بقدرة على رؤية شاملة للجدار الأذيني [Interatrial septum] بشكل مواجه و ذلك كضرورة لما قبل إجراء عملية رتق للثقب في الحاجز الأذيني أو الـ [patent foramen ovale].
و أخيراً، يبقى من أهم مميزات هذا الجهاز، قدرته التشخيصية الهائلة في ما يتعلق بأمراض القلب الوراثية بما يتفوق كثيراً على الجهاز الثـنـائي الأبعاد
