HEMATOLOGY- ONCOLOGY CLINIC

The clinical activity of the Hematology-Oncology Division at CMC includes: screening, early diagnosis, counseling and consult services at the private clinics, chemotherapy administration in the one-day hospital for out-patients, inpatient management (chemotherapy administration, adverse events management, follow-up, long-term toxicities follow-up, palliative care, pain management, etc)
High quality of diagnostic techniques is used including: laboratories, radiological exams (PET CT Scan, MRI, Scan, mammography, echography and osteodensitometry, interventional radiology, histo-pathology laboratory, endoscopies (Gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy).
High qualified and comprehensive team is committed to deliver the best treatment to the patient in a multidisciplinary work environment. The treatment includes:
  • Oncology oriented surgery
  • Organ preservation surgery
  • Chemotherapy administration: classical chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies.
  • Management of chemotherapy and disease related side effects & complications.
  • Radiation therapy (outsourced – implementation pending)

Multidisciplinary clinical programs are under implementation and will be fully active in 2009.
Research activities is included in the Division’s overall activities. Participation to international and national projects and open clinical trials are done under the supervision of the Institutional Review Board. The area of research includes phase II, III and IV and actually covers colon, breast, lung, bladder, pancreatic and lymphomas. Results of these activities are presented in international congresses and published in peer-reviewed journals.
Academic approach for the management of patients through the Hematology-Oncology review Committee is also implemented and active in multidisciplinary tumor clinics on regular basis.
The implementation of a unique, specialized and dedicated Cancer Center within the framework of Clemenceau Medical Center is under implementation. It will include new programs and tailor the latest cutting-edge technologies in the radiation oncology field, the stem cell transplantation, the early diagnosis, the palliative care, counseling, robotic surgery and medical treatments, etc.
