Dyspnea

Dyspnea or shortness of breath is a symptom of many lung diseases; you may feel out of breath or you can’t get enough air in and out of your lungs. However, many other conditions, including cardiovascular diseases and anemia, can cause dyspnea. Clemenceau Medical Center has a team of specialists that will help you find out the cause of your breathlessness. We offers a spectrum of latest and state of the art diagnostic tools and tests for the assessment of dyspnea, including: complete lung function testing, methacholine challenge tests, arterial blood gas testing, pulse oximetry testing, and Chest CTScan and x-ray. When considered necessary, the cardiac causes of dyspnea are also evaluated at our state of the art Heart Center. Dyspnea can often be relieved with special breathing and relaxation techniques. Oxygen may also be helpful in some patients
