Background

Dr. Imad Shehadi is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Beirut, Lebanon. Born on April 14 1967, in Beirut where he grew up and attended school at the International College until 1984. As the war intensified he moved with the family to St. Louis Missouri, USA where he joined St. Louis University as a freshman and graduating in 1988 with a bachelors of science in biology from St. Louis University. He received his MD degree in1994 from St. Louis University School of Medicine. He continued training in General Surgery with a Fellowship in Trauma and Critical Care from New York Medical College in Valhalla in 1998, and went on to spend a year in Akron, Ohio at Akron General Hospital in Plastic Surgery. Dr. Imad Shehadi joined the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which is considered one of the premiere places in the US, where he completed both a fellowship in Microsurgery and in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2003.
In July of 2003, Dr. Imad Shehadi returned home to join Dr. Sameer Shehadi and Dr. Ramzi Shehadi at the Plastic Surgery Institute until this day.  He was also appointed at the American of Beirut Medical Center where he taught from 2011 until 2014, when he decided to return to his successful private practice. During that period at AUBMC Dr. Shehadi was also appointed Director of The Graham and Meredith Rooke Wound Care Center from 2012-2014.
His practice consists of all aspect of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery including aesthetic, reconstructive, craniofacial, microsurgery, and hand. Currently the practice consists of 75% aesthetic and 25% reconstructive, craniofacial, microsurgery, and hand. About 80% of his operative procedures are done in the hospital operating room and about 20% is done in the outpatient center at Plastic Surgery Institute.
His research interest is in wound healing earned him a research grant for 350K $ for 2 years in 1991 by Merck Sharp and Dohme and continued by Bristol Meyer Squibb for one more year in 1993 while at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. In 2008 his research concentrated on Adipose derived stem cell for facial rejuvenation and treatment of difficult wounds in radiated areas, which gave him the opportunity to collaborate with Cytori Inc. a leader in stem cell research.
During his fourteen year career as a consultant plastic surgeon in Lebanon Dr. Shehadi has built an excellent reputation in providing good quality work with excellent results.
