Dr Khatib is a full time ophthalmologist at Clemenceau Medical Center, affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine International.
After completing her residency in general ophthalmology at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, she underwent her first fellowship at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center/The Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus surgery (adult and pediatric), she furthered her training by completing another 2 year fellowship in oculoplastic and orbital surgery at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia/The University of Pennsylvania.
Dr Khatib's practice today includes general eye conditions and exams for adults and kids. Her particular areas of expertise include crossed and drifting eyes and their surgical treatment (strabismus), blocked tear ducts and their surgical treatment (endoscopic and traditional lacrimal surgery), diseases of the eyelids and orbit (such as droopy eyelids, excess eyelid skin, orbital masses, etc) and their surgical treatment, and non-invasive oculo-facial rejuvenating treatments (injections, fillers and lasers).
Dr Khatib has been a member of and has lectured at major American and European society meetings, such as the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), The American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS), The World Society of pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (WSPOS) among others. She has written several book chapters and published many peer-reviewed articles in world renowned journals. She has a special interest in research and continues to participate in worldwide academic and professional conferences up to date.
