Background

Dr Nahida El-Rifai is a pediatric gastroenterologist graduated in 2001 from Lebanon (General pediatrics) then she did a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology in CHRU Lille, France and she got her diploma in 2003. Since then she started her job as full time physician at Makassed General Hospital, a tertiary healthcare facility. Then she joined the medical staff at Clemenceau Medical Center on 2021. Dr El-Rifai is involved in the clinical teaching program at Beirut Arab University as Clinical assistant professor and as a lecturer in Lebanese University. During her career, she published several papers in the field of pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. She regularly participates in local and international congresses. She is a member of the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) and the GFHGNP (French group of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition). She is assigned as a general secretary of the Lebanese Pediatric society since 2019. 

Dr El-Rifai had an expertise in the field of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition including gastroesophageal reflux disease, cow’s milk protein allergy, recurrent abdominal pain, celiac disease, chronic diarrhea, constipation, failure to thrive, inflammatory bowel disease, cystic fibrosis, recurrent pancreatitis, cholestasis in neonates, liver diseases in children, etc……..
Dr El-Rifai believes that good nutrition is the cornerstone of the treatment of many digestive diseases in children.
