Background

Following an extensive training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, almost 10 years of experience were dedicated to clinical practice at reputable tertiary care centers in Beirut to manage low risk and complicated obstetrical cases including but limited to:
-normal and operative vaginal deliveries
-cesarean section
-VBAC
-cervical cerclage
-postpartum checkup
-contraception counseling
In addition, wide experience was gained in managing gynecological cases medically and surgically including but not limited to:
-colposcopy
-hysteroscopy
-intermediate laparoscopic cases
-open abdominal procedures (hysterectomies, myomectomies, cystectomies…)
SPECIAL EXPERTISE - PEDIATRIC & ADOLESCENT GYNECOLOGY
Experience in this field was gained as a Clinical Fellow in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at the University College London Hospitals and its affiliated hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, under the supervision of Miss Sarah Creighton, Consultant Gynecologist and Head of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at UCLH.

The fellowship included working in outpatient clinics for general pediatric gynecology, general adolescent gynecology, in addition to subspecialized multidisciplinary clinics for disorders of sex development (DSD), congenital adrenal hyperplasia, Turner syndrome, premature ovarian failure and complex congenital urogenital anomalies.
As an integral part of the fellowship, surgical training included a general pediatric and adolescent gynecology list, a minimally-invasive list, and a joint list with the adolescent and reconstructive urologists for patients with complex urogenital anomalies.

Upon returning to Beirut, major efforts were dedicated to initiate workshops and a multidisciplinary clinic specialized in youth health as this was a relatively unknown field in my home country.
